When you come to the dental office you see a variety of staff from the front desk to the doctor. Ever wondered just who does what around the office? Well, here’s a little insight into the workings of the dental office.
The front desk staff consists of an office manager and hygiene coordinator. These ladies handle everything from scheduling your appointments, to verifying your insurance, calculating treatment plans, taking your payments and a ton in between! The office manager handles all of the finances involved in running a dental practice as well as many other tasks to keep the running like clockwork.
We have several dental hygienists here at Tooth Acres. We have both full time and part time hygienists in our office. This is why you don’t always see the same person when you visit our office for your regular cleanings. A dental hygienist in Texas must complete at minimum two years of dental hygiene training and pass several training requirements. They also complete Continuing Education classes during their careers to keep up to date on the latest in dental hygiene. Each hygienist we employ has gone above and beyond the minimum requirements to ensure they provide you the best care possible. The hygienist is a great resource to give you a wide variety of information on how to best care for your teeth.
When you come to our office for a restorative procedure such as a filling, root canal, extraction or crown you will first meet the dental assistant. Dental assistants help the dentist with all procedures done in the office to repair or restore teeth. While not required to attend school for training, dental assistants continue their education through training classes offered by a variety of organizations such as the Texas Dental Association.
Finally you meet the dentist. Dr. Holleron is the owner of the practice and is in charge of all patient care and treatment. He guides the dental team in taking excellent care of each and every patient we see. Most dentists have finished a four year degree and a four year dental school and have passed many tests along the way. Dr. Holleron is a DDS meaning a Doctor of Dental Surgery. His years of education and experience make him a favorite dentist here in San Antonio.
Each member of the Tooth Acres team serves a very important purpose and helps make the office run successfully. Our patients can expect nothing but the best from our staff.
We look forward to seeing you at your next visit to Tooth Acres!
